In Final Fantasy 8, you start off as Squall Leonhart. You are a member of a special military ops school known as Garden. Students from garden attend from the ages of 6 to 19. If you have not graduated by the time you are 19, you are kicked out. Beside his goal of graduating from Garden, Squall wishes to join up with a military group known as SeeD. Both of these tasks, graduating and joining up with SeeD will be the hardest tasks he has will ever have to face. In this game, unlike all the other Final Fantasy's, this one's theme does not deal with saving the world from some untimely death, this one is based more on real life, and the struggles that happen in it. This games theme is love! Amongst all the other struggles, this game's theme is love. Also, in Final Fantasy VIII, you will not be in Garden the whole time in fact only a portion of the game is in Garden, then you are supposed to be off on your own for a bit, then off to try and join SeeD. I don't know about you but I like that idea, but because of that idea, that's probably why this game is so long!
Balamb Dukedom: Balamb is a large island, comparable to Australia. Balamb Garden is one of the many gardens throughout the world; there seem to be different Gardens in other countries. Balamb Garden is treated as a school, with depicted areas such as the nurses office, corridors, a restaurant for the students, and a main gate. (Which we have pics translated for you in the pic gallery of.) Though students are required to enter and exit through the main gate, supposedly there is a hidden passage that some students use to see their sweethearts. In Balamb Dukedom, aside from garden, there is the main land. In order to get there, you have to take the islands main way of transportation, a train. Yes another train will be involved. I think Square likes them or something. Anyway, it is a huge tropical beach resort looking thing. That you visit many times through out the game.
