I have gotten the FF8 demo recently, and may i say it is
one of the most awesome games i have ever played, and i am anxiously awaiting the real
game. The graphics in that game are so unreal, they are the most realistic grapics, not to
mention the best graphics of any game yet! While just running around in the games the guys
look great, a lot better, a whole lot better then FF7. When in a battle, the graphics just
blow your mind, especially when they show a close up of a character. The cut scenes, oh
man, unreal! The cut scenes just fade in, instead of switching to a black screen for a
couple of seconds and then one appearing, they just fade right in with it.
The game, isn't all that easy, infact it will take you
atleast 4 or more trys to beat it. One of the reasons it is so hard is becuase you can't
heal yourself after a fight, since there is no menu. During your first 2 fights, you will
want to draw and stock each turn, you will want to stock cures. Each turn squall and zell
get do this, and attack with rinoa, you will eventually draw a bunch of cures, just from
those two fights, enough for the rest of the game.
When in a fight with squall, you want to pull the trigger
of his gunlade to attack a lot more powerful with him. To do this, when squall is running
up to attack the guy, after you all ready put the command in, you press the R1 button
repeatedly, and he will pull the tirgger. If you don't have dual shock, a way to notice
this is you can kinda hear it, and sometimes you will see like an explosion over a guy,
when that happens, you hit real hard. His limit is the same way, there is a gauge while he
is powering up, to make him attack more powerful, and to do some good moves. You press the
R1 button repeatedly just like his attack. Squall's first limit is as impressive as clouds
4th, and the awesome graphics definently help. Squall hits and performs moves to as
powerful as you make them, so sometimes he has a pretty lame limit, and sometimes its the
coolest thing you've ever seen!
The bosses are pretty hard, so I am going to give you some
hints on what to do to make it easier. When in the Boss fight with Biggs and Wedge, you
will only fight Wedge at first. After inflicting some much damage on wedge, Biggs pops in
and is now a part of the boss fight. When you are just fighting Wedge, use attacks, and
heal if necessary. When Biggs comes along, have Leviathon ready and knock the crap out of
both of them. Then, just keep attacking, and they will get blown away soon after. When the
Huge monster comes down, you would want to have Drawn a magic called Fira from that
floating monster with the revolving wings from an earlier stage of the game. Use
Leviathon, and all the Fira's you have, then just keep attacking and using limits and you
will be victorious.
When in the fight with the spider robot, you want to use
leviathon right away, so not to waste time. Then just keep attacking, if life gets low
just draw cure out of him and stock. There is one part right after you fight him the first
time where you just watch him stroll up to you. You think you must get in a fight, but
actually, when he charges you, you can run off. Then on the next screen, just run to the
left as fast as you can to escape him again. You will have to fight him only 2 more times
after that. If you keep doing what i said above, you should make it out on time to see the
ending. And there you have it, you beat the demo.
